POSITION TITLE:  Medical Assistant

REPORTS TO:  Medical Assistant Supervisor



WORK HOURS/TRAVEL REQUIREMENT:  Typical work week, with some Saturday and evening shift work.  Travel is infrequent and typically local (within 50 miles).


STATUS: Non-Exempt


EDUCATION REQUIRED: High school diploma or GED, MA School Completion

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:  Requires completion of all externship hours.





The Medical Assistant is assigned to work with a particular provider. He/she will be accessible to and complete all assignments as given by provider such as perform blood draws, vital signs, laboratory specimen work, assist provider with procedures, chaperone provider when needed, and interpret for provider as needed. He/she is responsible to complete assigned duties in the maintenance of clinical areas and supplies and will correctly documents this information. The Medical Assistant will perform other necessary duties required by the Medical Assistant Supervisor, Site Manager, or management team to achieve the goal of quality providing primary health care to MCHC patients.


The Medical Assistant assumes responsibility for follow up on messages and labs for designated provider on a daily basis; immediate attention will be given to urgent messages/labs.  All pharmacy requests and messages will be called in or answered by the end of shift. He/she will be responsible to identify them self, greet patients, and answer telephones in a courteous, timely, and professional manner. He/she will also be responsible to assist in scheduling appointments for patients as needed.


The Medical Assistant is responsible to explain all Medical Assistant procedures (e.g.: clean urine catch) to patients in a correct and easily understood manner. He/she is responsible to correctly enter all encounters with a patient into the corresponding EMR chart.  He/she will assure all messages and correspondence is placed in the EMR chart in a timely manner.


The Medical Assistant is responsible to correctly perform procedures according to protocols such as vital signs, lab tests, etc. He/she is also responsible for maintaining current Basic Life Support certification, required immunizations, and other certifications. He/she may be responsible for additional duties as assigned by the Medical Assistant Supervisor, Site Manager and/or any member of management team as needed.


MCHC is a Patient Centered Medical Home. This includes all staff members working as a team alongside patients to achieve a higher quality primary care experience. This position is integral to this process.


This position also is responsible for any and all other task that may be assigned to him/her by their supervisor that has not been described in their job description.

POSITION TITLE:  Dental Office Administrator

REPORTS TO:  Quality Manager





STATUS: Non-Exempt



The Dental Office Administrator is responsible for ensuring the success of the Provo, Payson and East Bay Dental departments by striving to exceed patient expectations, assisting with employee education, and ensuring that patient-flow occurs in a timely manner. This position performs under the direction of the Quality Manager to ensure that industry best practices are implemented at each site and that all dental support staff provides quality care and performs their jobs to the best of their ability. The DOA administers the day-to-day activities of the dental business office, including: maintenance of patient records, scheduling of patients, dental daily log, maintaining appearance and order of the dental office and recall system. The Dental Office Administrator assists the dental group in all aspects of dental care delivery as determined.



Education or Formal Training (Licenses/Certifications):

  • High school diploma or GED required

  • Bachelor’s Degree Preferred;


  • Two (2) years’ dental office management experience preferred.

  • Dentrix experience a plus.

  • Computer skills and software aptitude required.

  • Communication and customer service skills required.

  • Multi-line phone proficiency required.

  • Insurance coding and dental terminology preferred.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, patient records, manage multiple schedules, and ensure patient information is complete and up to date is required.


  • Bilingual: English/Spanish, preferred.

Additional Requirements/Licenses/Certifications:

  • OIG/GSA compliant.

  • Current personal immunization records, along with any required maintenance.

  • Ensure confidentiality, integrity, and availability of all HIPAA (created, received, maintained, or transmitted).

  • Must be able to use proper grammar (reading, writing and in speech).

  • Must have reliable transportation.

  • Travel: Minimal, as required.

  • Ensures compliance with required standards of care concerning sterilization, Joint Commission, and other regulatory agencies for relevant sites. (Frequency: 30%) 

  • Responsible for coordinating front desk operations including scheduling, check-in and check-out, billing, and taking payments. Coordinates responsibility to open and close dental office according to dental hours of operations and manages the day to day operations of the dental office. Coordinates with the Billing Department and resolves issues. Performs audits of patient payments according to policies and procedures. (Frequency: 15%)

  • Checks the daily schedule for accuracy and reviews the offices to ensure a neat, professional appearance of all dental areas. Coordinates staffing schedules for Dental Assistants and Receptionists. (Frequency: 25%)

  • Responsible for monitoring inventory and oversight of ordering dental office supplies. Monitor and ensure dental office equipment is working properly and ensure any needed calibration or repairs are scheduled in a timely manner. (Frequency: 30%)

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Takes responsibility for HEDIS measures and other related reporting/project work.

This job is performed in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses equipment related to their specialty (computers, etc), as well as standard office equipment such as phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, etc.
